More than code: Teaching programming with games
This talk will take a look at a how different games approach the computing education in a playful manner, why video games can have a positive impact on the learning experience, and what still needs to be done before our kids are ready to code.
Henrike Lode is CEO and Co-founder of the Copenhagen-based game studio Lohika. With her team she has developed and self-published the award-winning puzzle adventure Machineers. Henrike is currently working as game designer on an educational game about whales for Cape Copenhagen. She received her M.Sc. in Game Design from the IT University of Copenhagen in 2012, has been teaching User Experience and Prototyping, and Game Development at ITU. She has been executive board member at IGDA Denmark from 2013-2015, and co-organiser of the Nordic Game Jam.
