Head of Computing at Greenwich Free School
The mistakes I made in Computing Pedagogy and how to learn from them
Having taught Computing for 10 years in a variety of contexts (KS1-KS5), inner-city London schools and International schools, I would like to share my mistakes so that others can learn from them. I will also be presenting about fallacies in Computing education- this will cover fallacies from three main areas: Curriculum planning, Curriculum Delivery and Strategy/Leadership.
William Lau is the Head of Computing at Greenwich Free School. Having trained through the Teach First program in 2006, he has taught Computing from Key Stages 1 through to 5 in two London schools and in an international school in Seychelles. William is currently writing a book on Computing education and pedagogy and is excited to be presenting about “Five fallacies in Computing education”.
