Computational thinking through 3D animation
Ever wondered how the 3D animations and VFX are made. This session will show you how to use industry standard 3D animation tools with your students, as well as arguing that 3D animation is a great way to teach computational thinking.
Peter lectures in Computing Education at the University of Roehampton, where he runs the Secondary PGCE in Computing. He started teaching in 2005, working at schools in Lewisham and Ilford and winning two Teach First awards for his practice. He has been heavily involved with the curriculum reform in England as a member of the drafting panels for KS3,4 and 5. Peter wrote the CAS Secondary school guidance document. He has also been involved with similar reforms in Kazakhstan and Egypt. He has written textbooks for the Alevel computing course as well making training videos for KS3. Peter is currently undertaking a PhD that is studying digital creativity and social mobility.
