With the new Computing curriculum and wider availability of low-cost physical computing components, there has never been a better time for teachers and students in all disciplines to explore the opportunities for creating exciting learning resources using physical computing. David Hellam is a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and Google for Education Certified Innovator, currently teaching in a British School Overseas. During this workshop you will see some of the ways that his students incorporate block-based languages to harness the power of hardware that communicates with the outside world.
David Hellam currently teaches Computing at Riverside School, a growing international school located in Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic.
In a career that has taken him to teach on three different continents over almost three decades, David has picked up a few awards for his imaginative approaches to using new technologies to enhance teaching and learning. David is also a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Raspberry PI Certified Educator.
